Editorial policy
Who writes our articles, how we check the numbers, where AI fits, and how to tell us when we have got something wrong.
Why we publish this
Q Agency publishes articles, guides, case studies and tools about marketing, search, websites, brand and AI. People make decisions about their business based on what we write, so this page sets out who writes it, how we check it, and what we will and will not do.
It also tells you how to raise a correction. If something we have published is wrong or out of date, we want to hear about it.
Who writes our content
Every article is written or reviewed by a named member of the Q Agency team who works in that discipline. SEO articles are written by our SEO specialists, paid media articles by the people running the accounts, website articles by the web team. Each article carries the author, their role and the date it was published.
We do not publish anonymous articles, and we do not accept guest posts in exchange for links. Where an external contributor writes for us, they are named and their relationship to Q Agency is stated.
How we use AI
We use AI tools in our own work and in our work for clients, so it would be strange to pretend otherwise. AI may be used to research, structure or draft parts of an article, and to tidy grammar.
Every published article is edited and approved by the named human author, who is accountable for it. We do not publish AI-generated content unread, and we do not publish AI-generated statistics, quotes, client results or case studies.
Facts, data and sources
- Where we quote a number from outside Q Agency, we name and link the source.
- Where we quote a client result, it comes from that client's own reporting, with the timeframe stated and the client's permission to publish.
- We do not round results up, and we do not present a best-case outcome as a typical one.
- Industry benchmarks change, so where an article leans on a benchmark we date it.
- If we cannot verify a claim, we leave it out rather than hedge it.
Our results and case studies
Case studies on this site relate to real Q Agency clients and are published with their agreement. Each one names the client, the work and the period the numbers cover. Results depend on the market, the budget, the starting position and the business itself. A result we achieved for one client is not a promise of the same outcome for another.
We do not use stock imagery to imply a client relationship, and we do not list brands as clients where the work was done elsewhere.
Corrections and updates
Articles are reviewed periodically, and platform-specific articles are reviewed when the platform changes. When we update an article materially, we show the updated date.
If we get something wrong, we correct it. Material corrections are noted on the article rather than quietly edited out. To report an error, email info@qagency.com.au with the article and what you believe is incorrect, and a member of the team will respond.
Independence and commercial relationships
Q Agency holds partner status with several platforms, including Google, Meta, HubSpot, Webflow and Shopify. Partner status does not change what we recommend, and where an article discusses a platform we partner with, we say so.
We are not paid to recommend software or platforms, we do not accept payment for editorial coverage, and we do not publish paid links. Where we link to a tool, it is because we use it.
Information, not advice
Our articles are general information about marketing, drawn from our own work. They are not legal, financial or accounting advice, and they do not account for your circumstances. Before acting on anything here, consider whether it fits your business and get professional advice where the decision warrants it.
Questions, topics and requests
To suggest a topic, request a correction, ask for a source, or ask us to review something we have published, email info@qagency.com.au or call 1300 087 136. We read everything that comes in and reply within one business day.
