Which one is you?

Posting nothing, or posting for nothing?

Pick the one that sounds like you. All 3 start with the same audit of your accounts and your customers' feeds.

Not posting

The last post was a public holiday.

  • Nobody owns it, so nobody does it.
  • You know customers look before they call.
  • The accounts exist; the plan does not.

First step: Audit what your customers see when they check you, pick 2 platforms with a job each, and make the first month before anything goes live.

Audit my accounts

Posting, no result

Posting 3 times a week, with nothing to show for it.

  • Likes are fine. The phone does not ring from it.
  • Every post looks like every other business in your category.
  • You cannot say which post, if any, brought a customer.

First step: Give each platform a role and each post a job, wire the tracking so a booking that started on Instagram says so, and rebuild the calendar around what sells.

Show me what is missing

Paying for pretty

The grid looks great. The report is a screenshot.

  • An agency or freelancer posts on schedule.
  • The monthly report is reach and followers.
  • The content does not sound like you and never mentions the offer.

First step: Audit the last quarter against enquiries, not engagement. Then a plan where the studio that made your brand makes the posts, and the report shows what they earned.

Organic vs paid social

Same platforms. Different jobs.

Organic is what people find when they check you. Paid is how you reach people who have not. Most businesses need both; the question is the order.

What is Social Media Management?

Social media management is running your business's accounts on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn: the strategy, the content, the posting, the replies and the reporting. Done well, it means a customer who checks you before calling finds a business that is active, knows what it is talking about, and makes the next step obvious.

Most of it fails for one reason: the posts have no job. A photo of the team, a quote, a product shot; fine, but none of them asks for anything. We give each platform a role and each post a purpose, and we make the content in the studio that made your brand, so it looks and sounds like you rather than like a template. Then we track it, so a booking that started on Instagram says so in the report.

1 · Hook in the first second2 · Made by the studio

Your venue Friday trivia is back. Tables of 6, 7pm, book below. Book a table

3 · A job: book, with a tracked link
Hook, made properly, with something to ask for. On a Q account, 1 in 3 posts looks like this; the rest earn the right to ask.
  • 2 platformsis where most businesses should start. Do 2 properly before adding a third.
  • 3 to 5posts a week per platform is the cadence that builds a library without burning the team.
  • Not youif nobody at the business will appear on camera, answer a comment, or approve a post inside 48 hours. We will say so in the audit.

Check your own account

Score your Australian business account should have.

Open your Instagram or Facebook and score yourself. Five out of five is rare. Under three and the audit will find the same things, so you may as well fix them first.

Get the audit to do it for you
  1. A profile a stranger can act on

Category, suburb, hours, a booking or enquiry link, and a bio that says what you do in one line. Tap-to-call on the phone. Most Australian small business profiles fail this before the first post.

  2. Faces, not just product

The owner or the team on camera at least twice a month. Australian buyers trust a person over a logo, and platforms reward it with reach.

  3. Reviews reposted with a reply

Google reviews shared to the feed and stories, with a thank-you in your voice. Social proof is the cheapest content you have.

  4. Local hooks

Suburb names, local events, the weather, the footy. Content that could only have come from where you are outranks content that could have come from anywhere.

  5. A next step on one post in 3

Book, enquire, visit, buy. If the last 9 posts never asked for anything, the account is a diary, not a channel.

A role per platform

Every platform does a different job.

Nobody needs all 4. The audit picks 2, gives each a role, and the calendar is built around that. Cross-posting the same thing everywhere is how accounts go quiet.

Instagram

The shop window.

Who is there: Where customers check you before they call, and where hospitality, trades, health and retail get judged on the last 9 posts.

What we post: Reels that show the work, stories that show the people, a grid that makes the offer obvious.

Facebook

The local noticeboard.

Who is there: Over-35s, suburbs, community groups, events, and the reviews that decide a booking.

What we post: Events, offers, reviews shared, and community group posts that a venue or trade actually gets calls from.

TikTok

The discovery engine.

Who is there: Under-35s, and anyone who finds a venue, a product or a trade by watching someone else use it.

What we post: Native video: founder on camera, process, before and after. Made to be found, then run as a Spark Ad.

LinkedIn

The credibility file.

Who is there: B2B, professional services, recruitment. The place a buyer checks the person before the company.

What we post: Founder and team posts with a point of view, case notes, and hiring. Company page as the reference, people as the voice.

A month, shown

What 4 weeks of social actually looks like.

Taken from a real month for a venue client on 2 platforms, every post has its job written next to it. The client's name and figures are anonymised.

Our Social Media Strategy

Strategy, content, calendar, community, reporting and the bridge to paid, all run by one team.

Part 01 of 06

Strategy and platform roles

Who your customers are, where they already are, and what each platform should do for you. A role for each of your 2 platforms, a content pillar plan, and the 3 or 4 things every month must ask for. Written down, agreed, and revisited each quarter against the numbers.

What it changes: A plan you can hold the work to. No more posting because it is Tuesday.

What it takes

The real cost is time. Here is the maths.

Most owners doing their own social spend 12 or more hours a week on it, at night, and still post less than they mean to. Hiring in-house solves the time and creates a new problem: one person who has to be a strategist, a videographer, an editor, a writer and a community manager, and who leaves in 18 months.

A managed plan buys the team, not the person: studio production, a strategist, an account manager and the paid media team next door. We scope it once we know the platforms and the cadence; the audit is how we get there.

  1. What you get back. Your nights, and 12 hours a week.
  2. What you keep. Approval on every post, and the accounts, which stay yours.
  3. What you give. Approvals that take 15 minutes a month, a shoot day each month or quarter, and someone willing to be on camera.

Social media agency, Sydney

Social media management for Sydney and Australia.

Q Agency provides social media management from Sydney to businesses across Australia. We run Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn for hospitality venues, trades and home services, health practices, professional services firms and consumer brands: businesses whose customers check them on social before they book, call or buy.

Most social media management is a posting schedule. Ours starts with a role for each platform and a job for each post, because the customer who finds an active, confident account with an obvious next step is the one who converts. The content is made by the studio that makes our clients' brands and ads, so it looks and sounds like the business rather than like a template, and it is tracked so that a booking that started on Instagram says so in the report. We report in bookings, enquiries and revenue in AllNow, next to reach and followers, compared with month 1.

Organic social takes 3 to 6 months to show in enquiries; we say so in the first meeting. When a post works, it becomes the ad, run by the same team that manages our clients' Meta and TikTok Ads, so nothing is made twice. Most of our social clients are in Sydney and New South Wales, with multi-venue groups and national brands further afield.

Faqs

Questions we get about social media management.

Straight answers. If yours is not here, ask on the call.

How much does social media management cost?

It depends on platforms, posting cadence and how much video is made. We scope it with you after the audit. The comparison on this page shows what the same month costs in your own time or an in-house hire.

How many posts a week?

Post 3 to 5 times a week per platform: the cadence that builds a library without burning out the team. Every third post has a job: book, enquire, visit. The rest earn the right to ask.

Which platforms should we be on?

Start with 2. Instagram for almost everyone customers check before calling; Facebook for over-35s, suburbs and events; TikTok for discovery and under-35s; LinkedIn for B2B and professional services. The audit picks the 2 and gives each a role.

Who films the content?

The studio. A shoot day a month or a quarter depending on the plan, edited into a library, plus founder-on-camera pieces we help you record. Captions are written by our writers in your voice.

Do we have to approve every post?

Yes, in one link, once a month, inside 48 hours. You see everything before it goes live. If nobody at the business can do that, social will not work and we will say so.

How long until it brings customers?

Organic social shows in bookings and enquiries within 3 to 6 months. Faster if the accounts already have an audience; slower on a new brand. We baseline month 1 so you can see it move.

Is this organic or paid?

This page is organic: your own accounts, no media. When a post works, it becomes the ad; the same team runs our Meta and TikTok Ads and the creative is never made twice.

Do you reply to comments and messages?

Yes, in your voice, within an agreed window, and enquiries that arrive by message are routed to whoever books them. Scope and window are set in the plan.

How do you measure it?

Tracked links, UTM tags and form and booking attribution, reported in AllNow: what social brought in, which posts did it, and what changes next month. Reach and followers are included; they are not the headline.

Do we own the accounts?

Yes. They stay in your Business Manager and your logins. We are added as a manager and removed if we part ways.
